1-14-3 失败的约会
故事梗概
Ross在Centnal Penk遇到同楼的邻居Kristin．在Chandler和Joey的鼓励下，Ross成功地邀请到Knistin跟他共度情人节。但事有凑巧,他们俩一起用餐时碰到了Ross的前妻Carol和她的同性恋女友Susan，
从此Ross就心不在焉。Susan有事走后，Ross便把Carol叫来跟他们坐一起用餐。Ross跟Carol谈得很愉快，
冷落了身旁的Knistin，等他意识到时，Knistin早已离开……
(Ross starts to laugh, and then makes a face like 'Why did I just say that?' Ross' ex-wife, Carol, and her lesbian lover, Susan, enter the restaurant. Ross stares at them.)
Kristin: That's funny. Who are they?
Ross: The blond woman is my ex-wife, and the woman touching her is her... close, personal friend.
Kristin: You mean they're lovers.
Ross: If you wanna put a label on it.
Kristin: Wow, uh, anything else I should know?
Ross: Nope, nope, that's it.

等Ross把Carol和Susan简单地介绍完后，Kristin问：Wow，uh，anything else I should know?(哇，还有什么我需要知道的?)Ross答道：Nape，nape，that's it．(没有，没有，就这些。)
nape是no的变体，用以表示否定的回答。如果妈妈让你have your long hair cut(把心爱的长发剪掉)，你肯定会回答：Nope(不行)。你也可以这样做出反应，以示你的坚决：I won't do it!Nope．1 won't!(我不干!不，我坚决不干!)
nope和no sale在意思上都表示“不；不行”，二者经常可以互换使用。例如下面这句话中用nope也可：I wanted to go to Florida for the holiday，but my father said，“No sate．You can't do it．”(我想去佛罗里达度假，但父亲说，“不行，你不能这样做。”)
另外，Nothing doing!也可以用于否定的回答，表示“不行!；不干!”比如：Me，go to the opera?Nothing doing!(我?去看歌剧?才不呢!)
口语中表示类似表达法其实还有很多，no soap也可以表示“不；不行”。假如有人跟你借钱，但你不想借，你可以这样回绝：No soap，I don’t lend anyone money．(不，我不借钱给任何人。)
That's it．在口语中非常常用，用以表示“就这些。”或“就这样。”。假如你在就某事做出解释之后，对方问你：Is that all what you want to say?(这就是所有你要说的?)如果确实如此，你可以回答：Yeah，that's it．(是的，就这些。)
有些英语学习者常把That's it．和That's that!搞混，其实两者在意义上差别还是很明显的，That's that!的意思是“就这么定了!”或“不必多讲了!”。一次学生来找我商量缓考的事，他说由于复习考研太紧张，想把他的一门选修课缓考。我带他去找任课老师，但由于要求缓考的学生太多，老师没有答应。虽然学生再三恳求，但老师不能破例，只能说：I said no，and that's that!(我说不行，就不行!)如果遇到坏人胁迫你干坏事，你也可以大胆地说“不”：I won't go，and that's that!(我不去，不必多讲了!)
